GAY COUPLE'S CHILD DENIED RE-ENROLLMENT AT CATHOLIC SCHOOL
A preschool student at a Catholic school in Boulder will not be allowed to return next school year because of what is going on at home.
The student's parents are two women and the Denver Archdiocese says their homosexual relationship violates the school's beliefs and policy.
According to teachers at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic School, a meeting was held Tuesday to discuss the issue. The staff was told a student would not be allowed to re-enroll because of his or her parents' sexual orientation. The staff members were also told not to talk to the media.
In a statement sent to 9NEWS, the Archdiocese said, "Homosexual couples living together as a couple are in disaccord with Catholic teaching." [3/5/10]

NEW MEXICO DOMESTIC PARTNERSHIPS BILL KILLED BY SENATE COMMITTEE VOTE A bill that would have allowed Domestic Partnerships providing basic legal protections and recognition of same-sex couple relationships and their families under New Mexico law was tabled by a 7 to 4 vote during a New Mexico Senate Finance Committee hearing this evening, effectively killing the bill for this legislative session. While the domestic partnerships bill had the strong backing of New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, for nearly three weeks fierce debate has raged over the legislation. Several Republican lawmakers said that if the bill passed it would almost certainly lead to a lawsuit to bring same-sex marriage to the state > Full Story. [2/16/10]
WHY IS OK REP. JASON NELSON CHANGING JUST 1 WORD OF A LAW BANNING... Jason Nelson, the Republican Oklahoma state rep - who does not have gay face! - introduced HB 3408, called "An act relating to marriage" which would make it a felony for a minister of the gospel to solemnize a marriage not recognized by the state. Apparently their 2004 constitutional amendment codifying marriage as an exclusively heterosexual institution, banning civil unions and other legal protections for gay and lesbian people, and punishing any issuance of a marriage license to a same-sex couple weren't enough to "protect marriage." Now we have to throw ministers in jail for 1 to 5 years just to make quadruple sure. > Full Story. [1/28/10]
